We are currently seeking Category Management in High End grocery retail , Dairy FMCG, MEATS, GRAINS & Packaging for this client. You will have experience from a quality led retailer or FMCG in the UK, US, European market in the capacity of Category Manager. Ideal experience for :-
Grocery will be Waitrose, Harrods, Selfridges, quality Health Food, Planet Organic, Wholefoods etc
Meats, Dairy, Grains will be big suppliers to foodservice retailers.
Responsibilities
Developing a total cost of ownership model within a specified portfolio
Work with the supplier base to achieve the lowest total cost of procurement
Develop a strategic position on suppliers and sourcing within the category.
Global sourcing of products within a specified category.
Creates and manages financial operating category plan.
Creates positioning strategy for category based on competitive and market-place strategic assessment.
Leverages understanding of competitive market-place to project potential threats to category creating positioning strategy for product categories.
Communicate commodity forecasting to the business.
Leads the development of new product concepts from conception through implementation.
Develop supplier to meet corporate and franchisor requirements on cost, quality and service.
Skills & Experience
Business degree
5 years + Category Management experience within food or supply chain or procurement
Experience of sourcing and implementing new product lines
Effective communicator with excellent negotiation skills
Excellent analytical skills
Strong knowledge base on products and suppliers
Global sourcing experience
As a Category Manager you will contribute to the success of the brand by defining the tactical and strategic direction of product lines within each category in accordance with the international and regional product calendars.
You will have you sourced, selected and brought in new product lines.
Package negotiable, visa for any nationality. US, Australian, European Cat Mgr experience preferred
