To realise its highly ambitious and aggressive expansion plan, the company is currently looking for a proactive, commercially focused and profit driven Business Director – Gourmet Foodhalls & Cafes. Based at Alshaya in Kuwait, the successful candidate will interact on a daily basis with the company’s operating board with a view to spearhead the expansion of this segment. The role: To spearhead the implementation of Gourmet Foodhalls & Cafes in order to deliver results in terms of brands expansion & profit To define 3-5 year related business plans across the Middle East To set KPIs with input from Alshaya’s corporate and regional teams To lead operations and to manage quarterly & annual strategy performance reviews To ensure consistency of product & service delivery at the highest standards To put special emphasis to product & supplier selection, category management, stock control & profit To guarantee that all staff and processes comply with high-end international food retail standards The person: Energetic & dynamic Commercially astute and profit driven An influential, proactive and trustful leader A proven track record of delivering success through teamwork An excellent negotiator Comfortable managing complexity The requirements: 15+ years gained in gourmet food services and premium food retail including a minimum of 10 years as a senior manager Successful track record of multi-site retail management experience Solid multi support functions expertise (commercial, category management, customer service, brand compliance etc.) at director level Combining solid “Hands-On” operational knowledge with strong people development skills |
